Happy Monday! Mondays happen to be the most stressful days for me; I don't know why, but I move slowly and all I can think about is getting back into my bed to watch Netflix. I've been working on being more productive on Monday's and even more motivated, but jumping back into the week after a long weekend seems so hard. I know I'm not alone! Anyways, I thought I'd share a quick at home mask with you all to relax from a long Monday, since we all know it is the longest day of the week.






If you struggle with hyper-pigmentation or PIH (post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation) from acne or even a bad tan, this mask will help lighten the skin and give a beautiful glow. I've used this mask for a while and have seen an improvement with my PIH. Turmeric and lemon both have lightening properties and honey has healing properties so together it works amazing. If you have any open scars or active acne, I would recommend you wait to use this mask since the lemon juice can have a bit of a burning sensation on open lesions on the skin.

You may notice that your skin has a slight yellow tint to it once you rinse the mixture off your face; it''s normal. I reccomend that this mask be used only at night so that in the morning when you wash your face the yellow tint will go away as well. Also, Turmeric stains clothes and sinks (especially if you have a white marble sink) so make sure you are wearing an old t-shirt when applying this mask and wash the sink out immediately. I didn't realize that I had Turmeric sitting on the sink over night and it took a lot of bleach to remove the stain (whoops).

It's that time again! 2015 is flying by and I almost feel like I can't keep up. In my defense, time really does seem to fly when you're having fun! This month has been rather short, but I've managed to try out a bunch of new products; some were a bit...eh & others I loved.



Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix Eyeshadow Palette 
This palette has been on my wish-list since the moment I've seen the sneak peak pictures floating around Instagram. I originally decided to be "mature" and leave the palette at the store since I had a TON of makeup (eyeshadows and lipsticks in particular) sitting on my vanity that I haven't even touched. Well, of course Sephora had it's 20% off sale and I picked it up and told my self that since it was cheaper than normal it was okay to add it to my collection and plus I needed to treat myself. Even though, I'm pretty sure that was the worse excuse to tell myself ever, I'm certainly glad that I picked this one up. Kat Von D never fails me with her products and this one is no different. All of the shades are useable and are highly pigmented. I cant even put this down... that's how great it is. For more pictures of this beautiful palette, see my post here.




Mac Magic of the Night - Shaft of Gold
I've talked about these when I first bought them here, but I kept gravitating towards Oh Darlin' and forgetting I even owned Shaft of Gold. I decided to do something different and try Shaft of Gold and my oh my is it the definition of highlight on fleek. Oh Darlin' has been stealing the show and sold out everywhere, but Shaft of Gold is just as good. I have been using Shaft of Gold for my everyday wear to work face and it's so soft and subtle yet, it comes through, every.single.time. It's just gorgeous. So if you managed to miss out on Oh Darlin' give Shaft of Gold a try.


NYX Matte Liquid Liner
I am ever so faithful to my NYC liquid liner and I have been since middle school. I decided to try something different and wanted to try something different. The brush is the perfect shape if you like winged liner and the formula... perfect. One swoop across your eye and you get a nicely pigmented matte black line that lasts the entire day. Even though this is pricier than my holy grail liquid liner, and the tube is smaller I still like it a lot, if not more than my NYC liner (I'm a traitor I know).




Trader Joes Lavender Salt Scrub
Usually I put together my own concoction for a body scrub because I'm ever so picky about what I use on my skin, but I've honestly been really busy, and lazy when I'm not busy , to make my own scrub. So on the same day I picked up the Pumpkin Body Butter that I'll talk about next, I picked this up too. I've been obsessed with anything lavender that I thought to give this a shot; I'm glad I did. It has a mixture of Lavender oil, Almond Oil, Green Tea and Vitamins A, C & E. This doesn't leave your skin feeling sticky or too oily, like some store body scrubs do. It has become a staple and I use it every other day with a wooden scrub brush for the perfect body exfoliation. The only thing that bothers me a bit is that if you don't immediately rinse the tub out, it will be a bit slippery, and I've almost fell on numerous occasions; which looking back on is quite hilarious.







Trader Joes Pumpkin Body Butter
I will admit that I am no fan of Pumpkin Spice Lattes or Lattes in general, but I love the smell in candles and lotions. I stopped in Trader Joe's for some wine (which is surprisingly pretty good for the price by the way) and happened to see this when I walked down the wrong aisle (oops). The smell of this is so heavenly! It's not to overwhelming, but the amount of pumpkin oil is just right. This body butter combines pumpkin seed oil, coconut oil and Shea butter to create the perfectly creamy moisturizer. For under $5 it contains a lot of product and works fairly well. The only bad thing about it is, I have no fell in love with it and apparently I was lucky to have came across it when I have; the Pumpkin Body Butter is hard to find and of course only offered during the holiday season (bummer).

First off, Happy Thanksgiving my loves! For those of you who celebrate this holiday I hope you were able to celebrate with lots of good food and good laughs with family!
Moving on to the other things, I have one word to say...FINALLY! I've been eyeing this palette for a loonnnng time now and I was patiently awaiting it's arrival into Sephora stores near me. I am so very glad that I changed my mind because it is sooooooo gorgeous! I am a huge fan of Kat Von D's products, especially the eyeshadows as I mentioned here, and my coveted Lolita (which is always out of stock) because the quality is always worth the price and let me not forget to mention, I always love the design of her packaging. Just a side note: I purchased the Mi Vida Loca Remix palette from Sephora online for $59, and have seen it multiple times in Sephora stores, but now its seems that you can no longer purchase the palette from Sephora online if you are in the U.S. First, let's take a look and then I'll tell you where you can purchase online if you are in the U.S.

Happy Monday, my Luxxe Loves! I mentioned last week that every Monday for the next month I am going to share with you some of my favorite masks.  Last week I talked about how to create an at home clay mask and next up...Sea Salt.





What You Need:
Sea Salt (Iodine Free)
Water (you can use plain water, or rose water; rose water adds a bit of aromatherapy to the process so I prefer the rose water)

The Process:
Step 1: Wet your face

Step 2: Add the liquid of your choice in a bowl
Step 3: Mix both ingredients together (you can use your CLEAN fingers)

Step 4: Take the Mixture and place it on your face
Step 5: Rinse
Step 6: Moisturize

Just an Extra Tip:
Sea Salt is verrrrrryyy good at helping minimize the size of pimples so, when I would break out, I created a sea salt spray. It's pretty much this mask in a spray bottle here's how:


Step 1: Pour Sea Salt into the bottle
Step 2: Add Rose Water / Plain Water
Step 3: Add a bit of Witch Hazel
Step 4: Shake
Step 5: Store

How to Use: Spray only on your active pimples and do not rinse. Let it air dry and then add the moisturizer of your choice like normal.

How to Store: I leave mine in my medicine cabinet and interchange the mixture weekly so it doesn't lose it's effectiveness.

It's been a long week and nothing feels better than finally getting the chance to play with a brand new palette and highlighter. As I've mentioned here and here, I've recently picked up the Morphe 35o palette as well as the new MAC highlighter in the shade Oh Darlin'. Unfortunately I haven't been in the mood to get out of the bed for work (thanks for the chilly weather that makes me never wanna leave my bed...ever) let alone put on any makeup.
